Y-Block Intake manifold Install Question

I'm planning on replacing my intake manifold on my 292 y-block tomorrow. Is it necessary to use RTV silicon on the intake gasket, or will a new Fel-pro gasket seal just fine without using silicone? I tried searching YouTube but there so little info out there about Y-blocks. Thanks.

I smear the silver colored neversieze on both sides of the gasket. Works good for me. Currently I have a 239 gasket glued to the 272/292 gasket and coated with the neversieze. The Edelbrock FM 354 tripower has smaller ports than my heads. No leakage problems.

I think I used the copper gasket spray on the gasket.

Okay thanks. When I pull the current manifold off, there was a bunch of silicone used. I’m not a big fan of using it unless it’s a must.

1956 Ford truck shop manual

The shop manual does not mentioned any sealer. For example water pump housing it does. But using sealer at the water passage is always not a bad idea.
