Horn not working

Hello. I need some help with my horn. I have a new horn relay. When I press the horn button the relay makes a clicking sound, but no horn sound. I just need to figure out how the horn is connected to the relay. Currently, all the relay wires are connected to the voltage regulator and not to the horn.
Thanks. (1970 F100)

I don't know just exactly what you are asking. I can tell you that all of the wires from the relay should not be connected to the voltage regulator. If you look at the relay, there should be numbers stamped or printed near each terminal. terminal # 87 should be connected to the horn. If you have dual horns, you can splice a second wire to that wire and connect one end to one horn, and the other end to the other horn. Most horns are polarity neutral so you can hook the wire from # 87 to either of the horn wire terminals. The other terminal on each horn should go to ground. See if your horn terminals are marked + and - just to be sure. If they are so marked, # 87 wire should go to +, and - should go to ground. Terminal # 86 should be connected to the horn switch (button). Terminal # 30 should be connected to a power source from the battery. Because you say that the relay clicks when you activate the horn button, power from the battery is already hooked up from the battery to the switch, and from the switch to the relay. The relay is already grounded too. Terminal # 85 goes to ground. For safety's sake, there must be fuses in the wires from the horn switch (button) to the relay, and also in the power wire from the battery to the relay. Almost forgot- if there is a terminal on your relay marked 87a, do not hook it to anything.

Here is a 1970 master diagram. Follow the horn relay wires. Also run a jumper wire from battery positive to your horn(s). Test to see that they work and aren't frozen.
