I'm installing a new wiring harness in my Ford pickup it's a 79 now so used to be a 77 but the cab is a 79 do I need to keep the cruise control module at under the dash where it is I can just take it out right I need help I've never done this before it has two wiring harnesses in it at 77 and is 79 so I just bought a new one and I'm going to rip everything out I could use a little bit of help I think. I don't want Cruise control. Any help is good help?
Do you just not have the speed control hardware? What year was the wiring harness for? Which ever year it is that's your committed year.
If you have any trouble understanding the schematics just speak up. You've decided to undertake one of the more complicated jobs in a restoration project and I'm certain that's occurring to you now but not to worry with the schematics once you get past the learning curve unless you're already familiar with the process it will become easier as you go.
Did the CC work before? Did you ever use the CC before? If no and no, then I would just not connect/reconnect it. So yes you should be able to remove the CC module box. I would not "RIP" the 77 or the old 79 harness out, I would carefully disconnect and tag EVERYTHING during removal. And be careful with the connectors, you never know what you might end up needing.
