. Shunt wire is indeed cut and capped off. But the large yellow wire is also dead. The small red wire wire coming from grey plug is hot, as is the yellow wire that goes to the old alt plug. The black wire that was labeled “shunt” also is getting juice, but as said it’s capped off and set aside.
Look at the diagram above. Think of the electric like water flowing through pipes. The wires are the pipes. The power originates at the link J. The destination is C610 to the right in the diagram, and then it keeps going to the right to the two fusible links M and L.
The yellow/white and the smaller red are hot. That is because they are hooked to splice 203, which is hooked to J.
You need to hook the large yellow wire going to the grey C610 plug to J. Then it will become hot, and when you plug C610 into the truck, it will send power to L and M.
Hats off you you Franklin good Sir! I did what ya said, and was met with resounding success. Curiously, my Ammeter quit jumping around, as did my Tach and Voltmeter. It used to be that if I stepped on the brake even when the truck was off, the ammeter would drop all the way to "D", The Tach would tick a little if I hit a turn signal, and the voltmeter would drop pretty good if I hit my lights or whatever.. I figured it was just how it was.. Maybe just bad grounds that I cleaned up in desperation? Or maybe this is really just the eye before the storm? Gotta think positive I guess. A huge thank you to all of you for your help in seeing me through this mess.
