They don't have the technology. They are not able to launch, propel, and steer. The system they are using is to launch straight up. Or as straight as possible. They are only trying to get up to 62 miles, or 100 kilometers. Then as the lose momentum and start falling backwards, parachutes deploy. It's almost like a larger version of a child's toy.
This is why people believe that the space program is full of lies. Technology existed in the 1960's for a moon landing. We never went back to actually do anything scientific. This seems almost like a big step backwards. That's why I join Kyrie Irving and Draymond Green with "the earth is flat". Because a basketball player is qualified to speak on science, just as Jenny McCarthy is qualified to speak on medicine. And I get my political leadership from Dean Cain, who played Superman. Why? Because Ronald Reagan made a movie with a monkey, and became POTUS. Which is just about as ridiculous as everyone else falling into a fringe system of belief. I live in San Francisco, where I only see white guys shaving their heads and dressing like The Dalai Lama.
The weirdness ratio in SF is higher than most other places. When we took my brother and his wife (both mid-western through and through) to SF on one of their visits, their jaws were bouncing off the ground quite frequently. They were looking like fish out of water.
When I was a kid. I was a big SF Giants fan. I wanted to go up some day and see a Giants game at Candlestick Park. My hero back then was Willie mc Covey. I had a chance to go when I was 12 or 13, and for some reason known only to God, I turned it down. When I got out of the service in 1981, I wanted to drive up and see a game there. Never did make it happen. Now that Candlestick Park is no more, I don't have the desire to see a game there. I'll just watch them on TV.
You would love the new park. It is a great place to watch a ball game, and way (as in WAY) more comfortable. No more sitting in the cold, damp, arctic breeze. My nephew is a camera man for the Giants, and we can sometimes swing sweet seats.
There are nongame days where the park is simply open. You can walk around, sit in the seats, there's a junior batting cage, a super slide...... Glue Guy is right. It's a great place to watch baseball. This park was built for baseball. And the concessions are good. Garlic fries, brisket, ribs, burgers. Even the lemonade with a whole lemon in the cup is good. It's expensive. Plan for that day to be hundreds of dollars. Parking, game tickets, food, drink, souvenirs. I've spent a lot of money going there with free tickets.
If you have a disabled placard, park free on the street in the neighborhood. That saves at least $50. There are low cost tickets, which are still not cheap. Call and ask if they can accommodate your disability so that you can at least bring your own water. Food and drink is not allowed to be brought in. Don't buy the souvenirs because you will pay double price for everything. Go as early as possible before the game, if you want to talk to players, take photos, and get your ball or glove signed. Sitting behind the dugout and the bullpen is the best way to talk to the players, take selfies, and get signed *****.
Or just hangout on the outside, and watch the game free through the fence. The park was built for that. They made a section behind the outfield for people to watch the game free.
I couldn't afford to go now. It is way too expensive for me. And if I were to park on the street, I would need to take my scooter with me as I could never walk to the stadium. I'll just watch the games on TV in the comfort of my apartment now.
