I could use some help from anyone that has run into this issue before. I have a 2022 f350 srw and I bought the OPT7 Redline 60" tailgate lightbar and I am having trouble connecting it. I understand that our trucks have issues with this because when you plug it in or wire it to the trailer harness it registers it as a trailer which happened to me and the lightbar did not work and also turns of my BLIS.
The lightbar uses a standard 4-pin connector and when I went to hardwire it to the taillights it occurred to me that my running/brake lights and the turn signals are two separate lights. Because of this what do I do to connect the two wires that are labeled as brake/left turn signal and brake/right turn signal on the light bar? I know I probably should have seen that coming but I just never thought of it. I got the reverse function to work on the light bar where it turns all white because that was easy, you just splice into the reverse lights. But what do I do about the other functions? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
This is how I did it,
you will have left and right turn and when you brake the entire bar (RED) lights up
Thanks! Quick clarification though. My lightbar has separate LED's for the blinker. The running/brake lights are one set (red) and the turn signals are another set (amber). Should this wiring setup still work?
You can also go to the local trailer or auto parts and get a trailer wiring convertor that takes the separate brake and turn and makes the output on one wire This is a small module and very common
I installed a Putco Blade with Amber turns, brake and white reverse lights. Used my in-bed receptacle and the Ford provided converter from round to flat trailer plug. It works fine but I get numerous dash notifications about my trailer's status
I pickedup ground on the driver side taillight and the wires for the power are from the taillights I did not want the trailer info active all the time so I used all wires behind taillights Had to run one wire to passenger taillight for right turn .
I have attempted installing using the suggested setup and I just can't get it to work. For one, it only partially works when the truck is not running. When you start the engine, the blinker just stops working. But even when trying it with the truck off, the best I could get was everything working except that it won't let the blinker and brake be on at the same time. If the blinker is on and you hit the brake , the blinker turns off. I assume this is due to the common input on the bar.
Is there another light bar with a sequential amber turn that someone could suggest?
dOES your truck have LED taillights or Regular bulbs? My truck has regular bulbs, I dont think the Leds are getting 12 volts from the BCM that would cause problems with my setup

I do not have factory LED's. I have swapped fhe bulbs to some very nice aftermarket LED's though. Love them.

I have the same issue. Did you ever get it working?
