I'm wondering if I can hook up some sort of catheter from my 18 week old Cairn Terrier. With the amount he pees I'll never run out of DEF.

Since I deleted the parts that required the use of DEF I have saved a considerable amount of time. It would on average take an entire weekend going around to all of the local animal shelters & nursing homes collecting urine & filling the DEF tank without having to DECON after each stop.

God bless our government & the EPA.

You could have saved yourself considerable time by just parking outside a sports bar or an ice house.

I wonder if I could put 7up in the pee pee tank. Might add 100 horsepower.

I've never reused a DEF hose. Each jug of DEF that I've bought comes with a hose and that's what I've used and thrown away after each use.

Don't make this harder than it needs to be.

DEF - Diesel Exhaust Fluid...just another "tax" we have to pay to decrease our carbon footprint....don't get me wrong, if it does help keep my truck from puking thick black smoke, I'm okay with it. Nothing so silly as some slack-jawed hick running around in a diesel thinking they're something special by pumping black smoke out his/her tailpipe!

I get where you're going but DEF doesn't decrease carbon emissions or particulate soot. DEF is a reducing agent for NOx emissions. The DPF is what captures particulate soot and to be honest all of these emissions systems have a negative impact on carbon footprint (i.e., they increase CO2 per mile). It makes me wonder how they weigh these competing priorities.

The general rule is not to shake the hose more than twice...otherwise you're just playing with it.
