1995 Ford F250 5.8L Found a new air filter box and now installed. I cannot find the breather hose coming from a nipple below oil cap to the back of the filter box connecting to PCV filter insode the air filter. What size hose ? It appears also I'll need an elbow or teo, but looks like part was discontinued and I'm going to have to modify it somehow. Thanks
I’d get one from the junkyard. Probably cost you more in gas than what they will charge you for the part. If they even charge you for it at all.
Yes I thought of that as well and I plan to again soon but I was there yesterday. So I thought I would try to find out the size because I don't have the original, but it's proving to be rather difficult. Thank you for your response
There are plenty available on line if you don't want to go back to the JY. They are called Air Intake Hose. Just enter you 1995 year and engine 5.8. None show the size but you could take the connection with two hoses for the throttle body that has your mounting for the Air intake hose on it to the auto parts store for an accurate fit. Know what length you want and get two hose clamps to fit.
Sandy, I dont think he's talking about throttle body hose, unless I'm reading it wrong, it could happen, has before.
I think he is talking about the 5/8" rubber hose, that connects to neck on oil fill cap, and hose is connected to a hard plastic pipe that goes over to air intake 90's down, and connects to the small filter underneath, the intake air filter, which is part of the whole PCV system. 5/8" rubber hose
plastic pipe, slips into 5/8 hose, runs length of air intake hoses, to intake lid
5/8 rubber 90, plastic pipe slips into, at air intake filter lid
I have never owned a 5.0 or 5.8 and I thought the piece that comes out of the airbox that goes to TB went to the airbox. I see in your picture that it goes to the valve cover even thought your pic is a 4.9. Anyway I misread his post. Thanks for clearing that.

If you find it new please post up what it is and where you got it.
I've been looking for the same thing for my '95 5.8. My '97 5.8 has the same hose too.
Never find them in the wrecking yards either.
Earlier 5.8 configs don't look as precise because the nipple on the valve cover oil fill is in a different position than the '95
I know that Gates makes heater hoses with a preformed bend in them.
I would guess that this emission system hose would be available somewhere.
Make sure that any replacement is rated for oil and emission usage
You can go to one of your local big three parts stores & on the performance aftermarket parts "wall", pick up a little cone filter/breather & it will go right on the oil fill nipple.
Then you can chunk the little filter in the air box & put a piece of tape over the hole and you are done.
Will function just fine. Of course if your rings are gone & the PCV is clogged, yes it will puke oil out the filter.

i would use FI clamps of the same diameter or use constant tension(prob the best appropriate) and not cheap worms. Hose gets slightly hold and they wont seal because they will slightly dig in and the hose will be less supple and sealy

There is no reason to do that. It is a fresh air source for crankcase vapors. There isn’t really any vacuum or pressure on those clamps.
You don’t need to crank it down so tight that the clamp is digging into the rubber.

my only concern is the engine bay heating and cooling makes those things seal for crap, like the factory ones on my engine were without clamps and they are mostly fine but they all come off too easy now, and that hose is unknown quality itself so I would not be surprised if its even rated proper but the oil vapors and heat make it start not sealing well. thats just my mind future proofing if I was doin it myself. plus it gets REAL cold here so we find leaks that dont exist most of the year
