Engine problem

1999 f250 superduty v10 6.8, engine shakes when pressing on gas while driving, also when i am in idle it feels like it wants to die?

Running codes would be a good place to start. If no codes, i would start with fuel filter.. But likely codes and misfires. Plugs/coils.

Replaced fuel filter already throws two codes cant remember off top of my head, need to change plugs haven't done that since I bought my truck last year

Scan codes and go from there... They will point you in the right direction.

The codes are p0171 and p0174, all my vacuum lines are good new fuel filter, going to change the auto control idle next

Yes, the rubber plug boot that is attached to the coil. Only mentioned them because I have read on iRV2.com Ford chassis forum that some owners have just replaced the rubber plug boot and it cured their misfire problem.

Could be a multitude of problems that will cause this. Fuel trims need to be read while running to help diagnose the issue. Intake manifold leak, low fuel pressure, etc. Don't rely on internet guesses + throwing parts at the problem.

Diagnose then fix.
