Lean mixture plugs
my limited knowledge thoughts. Could it be
timing train components worn
injectors need cleaning
mas flow air sensor
manifold air sensor
tps sensor
engine control module ..ecu
fuel pump pressure sensor
seems like it’s missfiring when cruising. Not under load
almost when the transmission wants to change 2nd to third. It’s an overdrive type transmission
could the torque converter be a problem.. . Lots thoughts I know.
its apparently had this stuttering problem from very early on, but gets progressively worse now..
I will get into more soon.
guess to order an ecu . Throttle position sensor.02 sensor.. and any other sender associated with this motor. Try to get someone to stethoscope the timing chain adjuster. Or get into the timing chain and replace components.
at some point every single part associated with this problem will be replaced.
fortunately the previous owner has already spent a couple of grand. With parts replacer mechanical shops.
I’ll stick with to the end.thanjs for reply. Maybe I should post pics of the plug.
Before buying all them parts get the motor up to temp and disconnect each part and see if you get a code and if your reader will show it.
That would prove if your reader can read or not.
As for the timing chain look into it more as the 300 dose not use a chain but gears.
Now you can check for play that I dont think they will have by pulling the dist. cap and looking at the rotor.
When looking at the rotor turn the crank till the rotor just starts to move then turn the crank the other direction till the rotor just starts to move.
Measure the movement of the crank in degrees and let us know what that is, it should not be much.
Have you done a compression test and a leak down test so you know if the motor is in good shape?
If the motor its self is not any good then what ever makes it run will not have much luck doing its job.
