VIN Help

Hello all, I’m looking to purchase a 1962 F-100 but I’m having trouble finding information to decode the VIN.

NCS97996144

any help would be appreciated.

A pic of the vin plate would help more.

That number does not match the VINs for that year truck. Was this an assigned VIN by the state?
