Adding additional cameras with factory functionality?

I just picked up a 19' lariat f350, and unfortunately I didn't realize till I took it home that it only had a single backup camera, no other ones. I would love to add the third brake light camera and front camera. Can someone point me in the right direction for what parts I will need? I did a fair bit of research last night but I didn't exactly know what to get. I have the 8" sync 3 system

On my 2019 Lariat, you can select between the tailgate mounted backup camera and the CHMSL camera by pressing the button with the camera icon while in reverse. I thought that this was standard with the backup camera option?

I did the same and was wondering if you could add cameras without a manual toggle.

You need the module for your sync system - screen, cameras, and a Ford wiring guru. The front camera is like $500.

There is a guy on YouTube that did it on his white f150. Its an african america guy who says he’s from Houston in the video, if you find it. He lists the parts and kinda a explanation of what’s involved, but not enough detail to figure it out but that would be a good start for you.

If you dont have the popout plate on the bottom of your mirrors then its probably a no go. Way to expensive to get new mirrors. You will need to go aftermarket probably.

Did anyone make progress on this?

I’m in the same boat. I have a 2021 XLT with the single camera on the tailgate, but would really like one in the bed for the gooseneck. Any ideas?

Is that your truck ZooDad? I'm interested in doing something like that, rather than going through all the trouble to replace the 3rd brake light assembly and try to make it work. I really like the idea of using the factory display rather than having to add another one, especially since I've got the 12" Sync 4 in mine.
By the way... Thanks for all your contributions and work with Forscan! You've helped me quite a bit over the years!

Following, I have the bed/third brake camera but I'd really like to add a front one, or even substitute the signal from the bed to a front ...

Not sure this fits in with what you are trying to accomplish with additional cameras. I have this kit installed in conjunction with my FLIR camera. Besides giving you the option of viewing any camera at any time while in motiion, the kit has 3 aux video inputs. I use one for my FLIR camera. So with the two inputs left, I plan on using one of the inputs for a dedication Gooseneck hook-up camera. I have a folding bed cover and it blocks the OEM bed camera's view of the ball.

Thanks for sharing this. I'm not sure if it would work for me, since I don't have the 360 cameras or UTT pckg, but I'll bet it could be made to work if I had the right components and made the necessary changes in Forscan. Assuming that I installed the hard camera button on the center dash and (I'm pretty sure) there is a camera interface module of some sort, in theory it should be feasible. The question then, is what's it going to cost? Still worth looking into for me, I just need to do some more research and find the time.

You might try calling the company- NAV-TV and talk with a tech. Before I laid out a lot of money for the FLIR camera system and the COD-53 interface module, I spent a lot of time on the phone with a tech named Tony. He was super helpful. I'd bet he would be able to give you some insight on taping into the Ford OEM system. Maybe NAV-TV has developed a interface module that would work with the non 360 view camera system.

I've looked at these, they are both the same camera, and the description says they are not compatible with 2022s. Does anyone know what the difference is between 2020s and 2022s that would prevent them with working on the newer trucks? I have the 8" Sync 3 screen and I really don't want o add a separate monitor. That was etrailers suggestion.

As of right now I was able to get all cameras from the chmsl, both left and right mirrors and front camera all oem as well I seen this guy on the 150 platform do it I’ve added the top camera by the rear view mirror for the lane departure and worked with out having to program it. I wonder if it can be done with the other 4 cameras as well
