I have a 2003 Excursion 6.0, and I saw a video about removing the butterfly under the elbow, it said it improves mileage and performance. I understand it's for the EGR?
Will I gain anything by removing it? Will it throw a engine code? I do have a SCT ITSX tuner from 5star. I also tow 10k frequently.
If you're EGR deleted, there's no reason for it to be there. As Jack said. Remove it and don't drop the small screws. I've been running without it in my 04 for about 5 years. I don't know that the "mileage" and "performance" claims have much merit.
I still have the EGR, and to my understanding i can't remove it or I'll get a CEL light, and my 5* tuner wont bypass my EGR, os that correct? This is my first diesel and have had it for about 3 years and still learning!
