The 6.5 inch and 170 mm are not interchangeable.
What year is the truck you are dealing with?
Your post #1 left me with the impression it is an older truck.
1999 and newer F250 is 170 mm (metric).
1998 and older F250 is 6.5 inches.
(Enough details for now.)
