I traded a 2020 Lariat 7.3 F250 for a 2022 Platinum 6.7 F250, and the insurance premium DOUBLED, from $62 to $128 per month! This is with MetLife. Anyone have a similar experience with 2022 MY?
Long-time Allstate user here. Going from a 2017 KR 6.7L to a 2022 KR 7.3L and my rate is also going up. I pay once every 6 months, but it works out to going from $65/month to $83/month. Different trim levels drive repair costs up/down, thus the insurance rates fluctuate accordingly.
Without going into any details, I will say my Allstate agent has taken very good care of me on at least three occasions. 'Tis the main reason I've stayed with him for almost 30 years.

Correct. As a general rule, the opposite is true regarding loyalty -- it's penalized. The longer you stay, the more they know you're not leaving ... and they just keep twisting the thumb screws. Unless you have accidents or violations that make switching difficult, you should be shopping for new auto insurance at least every 3-4 years. The longer you stay, the more you pay.
insurance comparisons are pretty hard because of drivers records, credit rating etc.
but i used farm bureau here in texas since 2011, prior to that we had allstate since 1983 they went nuts with rates in 2011.
i have great credit and no charged tickets etc since 2006. loyalty may not be rewarded by some, but we have been very happy
rates have been increasing here, we live in rural area and WILDLIFE incidents have risen.
either way its still freaking crazy at the crap we get charged for, like theft recovery law, etc
when i traded the 2016 expedition on on the 2021 in apr, my policy jumped from 429 for 6 months to 493 with the super duty. same 500 deduct and companion policy discounts.
my policy just renewed to start in oct and it was adjusted to be only a 36 dollar increase over the new policy term.
we have 2012 edge limited and 2008 motorhome on same policy.. truck is most pricey of three and all have full coverage and rental , with limited mexico coverage's required by state
we have had two accidents since 2011, they were charged to the other driver(they hit us), i cant say enough how wonderful Farm bureau handled these incidents. we got made whole with very limited issues. they did what insurance should do... fixed our vehicle and went after the other person, no waiting to get my vehicle in to be fixed. In fact both times the vehicles were in body shop within 3 days of event. we never had to talk to the other company or raise heck. got my deductibles back and numerous follow ups to make sure we were happy
and yes every policy renewal time, i do my do diligence and call around to see if anyone beats the price with level service, only gieco comes close(within 300), but the they use progressive for RVs and thats a NO bueno here.
USAA is also close but still higher by hundreds.
If you go from a gas to a diesel (exact same truck except the engine) the rate will go up. They charge a higher premium for the diesel. It costs a lot more to repair. I had nothing but trouble with my diesel and just traded it in for a gas engine vehicle. Other than the engine difference and the new truck being 6 years newer my premium, went down.

True to a point.
Don’t just blindly buy the cheapest insurance. If you ever need it you will want good insurance.
A few months back my wife and I had a bad accident and I was glad that we hadn’t chosen the cheapest option and made thoughtful decisions after detailed discussions with our insurance agent. I know that many buy directly from a company these days and it saves a few bucks but when you have to make that claim having an agent that is on your side you will really appreciate it.

100% accurate. Had Liberty Mutual for 5 years...suddenly the rates went up 100 for the 6 months, then doubled the next 6 months. Same vehicles, no tickets or claims. Homeowners went up around 20% also. Of course they were dropped and I went with allstate. You have to constantly shop around.
I got a new quote for going from my current 2018 F150 Lariat to 2022 F350 Platinum and mine went up $25 per month. Mine will be about $85 a month total. I recommend checking out Geico. They also have an add on called Mechanical Breakdown Insurance which is like a warranty as it covers the whole vehicle but has a $250 deductible. Vehicle must be within the first year of owning to qualify…costs about $6 a month. I get it instead of the warranty…costs way less in the long haul.

Depends a lot on the state and town you're in. The number of claims in your area etc. Liberty has taken good care of me for the last 10 years. $800/yr for my 2020 F350. My home owners went up about $100 this year.
