Insurance Cost
Now we have the Escape and the new 2022 F-250 XLT at $212 per month. Up $21 month. Not bad.
Wife drives 4 miles to work. I'm retired so the truck is a "pleasure vehicle"
Agent inquired if new truck had AEB, it does, and that gets a discount. So does living in a low crime area.
We are with Progressive.

but i used farm bureau here in texas since 2011, prior to that we had allstate since 1983 they went nuts with rates in 2011.
i have great credit and no charged tickets etc since 2006. loyalty may not be rewarded by some, but we have been very happy
rates have been increasing here, we live in rural area and WILDLIFE incidents have risen.
either way its still freaking crazy at the crap we get charged for, like theft recovery law, etc
when i traded the 2016 expedition on on the 2021 in apr, my policy jumped from 429 for 6 months to 493 with the super duty. same 500 deduct and companion policy discounts.
my policy just renewed to start in oct and it was adjusted to be only a 36 dollar increase over the new policy term.
we have 2012 edge limited and 2008 motorhome on same policy.. truck is most pricey of three and all have full coverage and rental , with limited mexico coverage's required by state
we have had two accidents since 2011, they were charged to the other driver(they hit us), i cant say enough how wonderful Farm bureau handled these incidents. we got made whole with very limited issues. they did what insurance should do... fixed our vehicle and went after the other person, no waiting to get my vehicle in to be fixed. In fact both times the vehicles were in body shop within 3 days of event. we never had to talk to the other company or raise heck. got my deductibles back and numerous follow ups to make sure we were happy
and yes every policy renewal time, i do my do diligence and call around to see if anyone beats the price with level service, only gieco comes close(within 300), but the they use progressive for RVs and thats a NO bueno here.
USAA is also close but still higher by hundreds.
