The dealership where I bought a 2021 F350 stated the same thing, Ford is FORCING dealers to keep their 1st Bronco’s on display, not allowing them to be sold. They are a straight up dealer, in business since the late 40’s.
Regarding the interior waft, it’s an awful chemical smell. My wife was considering ordering one, but now she has second thoughts.
Same deal here in Florida. The wife keeps wanting to order one but I told her no X Plan, no Bronco. She contacted a nearby dealer. They said oh we have two 2021's and 3 2022's. She asked for a price on one of the 2021's and they never responded. They wanted her to come in. Come to find out they do have one First Edition which they never called her back on. They have no 2022's but wanted her to come in a look. lol She may just buy a Wrangler instead.
That Wrangler with the 48V Etorque 3.6 is an option which could work. Electric torque on restarts and off from the stoplight added torque means better mileage with one. It also Regens on stops and downhills for free mileages. It takes a change in driving strategies, instead of blowing up to an exit and braking hard one just lets it slow down on its own thus 48 volt battery recharge nicely ! 12V cold starts with the 12 v. starter for added cold weather use. Its easy to want the Pentastar 3.6L. E-torque. I see so many & it appears to be the Ladies Bucket list wish !
I was one of those super excited and reserved it on day one. Then in May of 2021 I converted to an order. As the year when on the options I wanted weren't available until MY2023 and eventually I just lost interest in the Bronco. I ended up ordering a F250 which is more practical (the Bronco was just a weekend toy) and order date to delivery will be 3 months. Everything happens for a reason and the more I see them on the road, I am no longer hyped or impressed with the Bronco. Maybe I'll get my kid a used one in a few years so I can drive it.
I remember my 74 full sized Blazer, 13/15 mpg. I put big valve heads, Corvette camshaft / dual exhaust and Offenhauser manifold on it. couldn't get it out of 2nd in town. It was fun on the Low side too ! I sold it to a friend in 1980 and bought a Toyota 4x4 truck. The truck was better but not as fast ! ... Those times the snows were a lot worse also !
This is not written to any particular person. Not to be a spoilsport, but the way to get a new and hot vehicle is to order one. I have waited and waited since the reservation and order banks opening. It has been a crazy process with the chip shortage and top issues, but we ARE in unprecedented times. My vehicle is said to be built this week and I will have it in a couple of weeks. i'll be sure to post when i receive it. I have driven the Bronco and took it off-road in the off road event. My 6' 8" son was comfortable so i don't get the "cramped" complaints, but it's not an F150 y'all! It's 100% more comfortable and nicer than ANY Jeep and that's the competition by which the Bronco was made to battle. I love the truck and I know my son (who is getting it) will love it even more. Overcharging is the dealer's prerogative, but I hate it and my dealer has a policy of not charging the added dealer markup. I switched my order from my local dealer who charged such markups. Now, let's get back to complaining about artificially inflated gas prices!
My wife was given one as a service loaner because her F150 is in he shop for some warranty work. I am also 6ft tall and by no means a small guy and I just drove it about 200 miles yesterday with my wife and 2 kids. I did not get a cramped feeling at all, I bet there is 4-5” of room above my head so plenty of head room. The one we were given is the 4 door version. There isn’t as much leg room as our 19’ F150 but it isn’t as big so that’s to be expected. I was really impressed with how tight it felt while driving and it actually drove really nice, especially compared to the last Jeep I drove. That Jeep drove like crap! The Jeep felt like I was driving a pogo stick with wheels and an engine. Our only complaint was the soft top was noisy, but that is also expected because every convertible I have ever been in was noisy. To each their own, but we liked it! I would like to own one as a second vehicle someday.
I agree with you I got to drive one for a 1/2 hour while my F150 was in for an oil change. Yes, the soft top had wind noise. My 3 Mustang convertibles, that I have owned, have all had wind noise (along with a 1965 Corvair Convertible). I really did enjoy driving it not a road trip vehicle, but I could if if I needed to. By the way it was a black diamond with Sasquatch Package 35" tires. Ride was way better than several Jeeps I have ridden in. If I ever decided to trade again I would buy something fun for my last vehicle. Bronco and Ranger would qualify. I really n longer need a full size truck anymore. All the kids have one and they don't let me do much of anything anymore.

I am no longer interested in owning one.
I am 6ft tall and felt a little cramped.
No way i could drive it very far.
Might be good a a second vehicle...but no road trips.
Interesting, I drove a Black Diamond with Sasquatch Package 35" tires and felt just fine. Oh, I am 6ft tall also and have an XL body according to my shirts. It has more room than the Wifes Edge which is a pleasure to drive. No it doesn't have the room my F150 Screw has but what does?
