Hey all!! New owner of a Ford 1939 Truck. I have lots to do on her and could really use some help!
The question I have mainly is. Are there any other models, years, makes that have comparable parts, hardware, and sheet metal. Its a scarce 1938-39 Ford Truck world
Also what parts books, and or sites do you like to use.
Thank you in Advance

Welcome aboard. As an owner of a '39 p/u I know they don't get nearly the love that '40/'41's get but they definitely grow on you. Just a suggestion but you might consider listing at least your general location. There may be other members nearby that can offer assistance or maybe have a part you need. I'd start with a copy of the "Green Bible". The official title is Ford Chassis Parts and Accessories Catalogue. It covers the years '28-'48. Also a Motors Manual that covers 1939. Try Faxon's Auto Literature in Riverside, CA for manuals. Everyone seems to have their own list of favorite parts suppliers. Here are mine but there are other excellent vendors as well. I'm sure others will post their go to suppliers.
1. Joe's Antique Auto, Uxbridge, MA
2. C&G Ford Parts, Escondido, CA
3.Vanpelt Sales, LLC, Batavia, OH
4. The Early Ford Store, San Dimas, CA
5. Third Gen Automotive, Mcminnville, TN
6. Dennis Carpenter, Concord, NC
7. Gotham Auto Parts, LLC Bedford Hills, NY
8. Southside Obsolete, Faribault, MN
Another forum with good info is The Ford Barn: Early V8 (1932-53) - The Ford Barn
One final suggestion, Mac's has a bad reputation here and on other boards as well. Make your own decision.
