Adding Def Doesn’t Move the Guage

Mine always shows full. Once I got a fill def now message.
filled it a tank of fuel ago and it took two gallons.
just went out with an empty 5 gallon check Braine the and a 4 foot hose to see if I could test the guage by draining it and all I got out of it was air.
so in spite of indicating full.,,it probally needs a few gallons.
