For some reason those bullet connectors seem to be the worse for a good crimp. Like others mentioned, the ratchet type crimper work best. Also, when rewiring my truck I soldered and shrink tube sealed all the critical connections. All others I used crimp terminals that had solder inside of them and had a heat shrink shield. After crimping, when heating the shield to shrink it, the solder melts and helps improve the connection.

I called Rhode Island Wiring and spoke with a nice gentleman that told me mine was the second call today he received on this topic. They have a very large floor press that they use for crimping their wire connectors and he told me he doesn't know of any hand tools that are effective with the bullet connectors. He also said that when the factory originally attached these bullets that they crimped them to hold them in place so that they could be soldered. So I guess my soldering efforts on previous connectors should work. Thanks to everyone for your responses!
