So I'm out here under the truck replacing motor mounts, and of course the last bolt gives me trouble. I ended up breaking this mount to trans bolt, Ford Screw 388824 in the diagram below.

Someone in the past broke the other one off, because it was already drilled for a through bolt, and I'd like to do that now. Problem is I can't see how to get a drill bit to it without either removing the cross member or drilling an access hole thru the cross member. Can anyone say whether that is a good or terrible idea?
Worst case I'll bolt down the one side and limp it to a trans shop.
The crossmember isn't that hard to pull out. The eight bolts on the bottom, and then just use a prybar and a deadblow hammer to knock it backwards a few inches.
