I just bought a 2018 Super Duty F250. Found out almost the hard way that there is a speed limiter at 93 mph, trying to pass a 18 wheeler. Can this be turned off by a mechanic or me? Thanks!
85 is the highest speed limit in the U.S. Can't imagine why you would want to go faster in a 4 plus ton truck, but yes there are ways to remove the speed limeter. Keep in mind tire speed rating..

Hi. Thank you for responding. Yes, agree, no plans on driving that fast! It those moments when you need it, it is available.
Since it can be turned off, how is this done? Thru a My Key setting?

Also keep in mind the driveshaft's critical speed. If you exceed it the driveshaft fails. Here's a video of exceeding the driveshaft critical speed in a Mustang.

sometimes it's not about WANTING to go FASTER. this is more or less about WANTING to be a FREE man and if I feel the need (or have the need) to go above 100mph, then I don't see why not. I'm just tired of being told what i can and can't do by some bureaucrat that sits in an office and gets chauffeured around or drives a $150k dollar something that is able to do 150mph
They either removed or greatly raised the speed limiter in the tune on my truck and I didn't know, scared the snot out of me when I went to pass 3 slowpoke cars on a 2-lane, tromped the go pedal and as I went by the 3rd car I looked down and the speedo was flying past 100, WOA NELLY!!!
