Do you think the under hood pad deletion has anything to do with heat dissipation? I always thought it helped with sound control and I like the finished look.
TASCA has them for $90.
And do you think I could find power and add the light back too?

No and yes. No to the heat dissipation, I think they were just trying to cut cost. I added the pad back to my 2019. Yes to the light power. The truck already has a hood switch that could be used as the 'trigger' to turn the light on when the hood is opened. Timer relay for the timed part of it and you have your batteries under the hood for power.

The pad removal was certainly a cost savings. I actually prefer the lack of this foam pad for 2 reasons. One being that mice won't eat it in 10 years. And the second being that it actually allows some of the engine heat to melt the snow off the hood when I warm the truck up in the winter mornings.

If a guy wanted to add a light, my suggestion would be to find a light from one of the old chevys that is on a reel on the fender. Those things are handier than any of the current under hood lights. The light on my '21 is so far back on the hood that it doesn't illuminate anything but the fuse box. God forbid you want to check anything else.

What you mention about the heat dissipation is actually why I added the pad to my last truck and moved it to my current truck. I had a black 250 with the 6.2 and, during a light rain in the summer, you could see the steam coming off the hood. I figured that can't be great for the longevity of the paint on the hood and added the pad. The hood will still heat up to let snow and ice slide off reasonably well in the winter, just takes a bit longer.

Thanks guys, appreciate that.
My 2019 had the hood pad so much have changed that mid-year.
Funny regarding the Chevy light comment. I remember those from the 90's I think and they did work. What would happen to me if I put a Chevy light on a Ford

I think it was a trim level thing. My '18 XLT with the 6.2 had it, my '19 6.2 XLT did not have it and my '19 6.7 XLT did not have it. They were all low level XLT builds. I bought the pad for my '19 6.2 and pulled it out during the trade to put on the diesel.
