I’m at altitude (Denver) so I’m beginning from a lower output to begin with. I bought a SCT tuner from Five Star with four tunes: 85 eco, 85 tow, 87 eco and 87 tow.
I’ve considered going to a local dyno and spending $100 for a few runs. What do you would be a reasonable increase from the baseline for the tunes for my 2018 6.2?

I am getting ready to pull the trigger myself. Not expecting performance gains. However I would be interested to see if the trans shifts and pedal response improves like they claim.

it definitely feels stronger. With the tow/haul mode on, the downshifts seem pretty aggressive. I’m towing this weekend and I’ll have some better feedback on how it does. I may dyno next week.
from testing a 5 star tune on a dyno near me, their numbers on their site are pretty accurate. the trans tuning is pretty good from them. its also important to remember area under the curve changes are what you will notice most vs peak numbers.
Your not going to gain much unless you start upgrading stuff under the hood. Mostly its all tranny related. I have had mine tuned from 5 Star for 2 years now and love it.
Went ahead and pulled the trigger on the tunes today. 5 star has the SCT ITSX on sale for $100 off so that pushed me over the edge. I went with 87, economy, tow and performance and a 93 performance just fit the heck of it. I am really hoping it helps with the transmission shifts.
I will be interested in hearing what you have to say about the tuning. I leave for upper Michigan in 2 weeks.
I haven’t bothered to dyno it but definitely like the change the tune has made. I also read the owners manual which says not to run 85 octane at my altitude, which is the equivalent of 87 at sea level. I’ve started using either mid-grade (87) or super (89) and it’s towing better.
It’s pulling my 13k fifth wheel very well, easily going 65-70 on the interstate at about 2,200 RPM’s at about 8mpg. That’s better than my V10 motor home used to get (6.5). I haven’t done the Ike Gauntlet pull yet, but I’m not expecting it to go much more than 45MPH.
