I am considering leveling my 2006 f150, and also adding a camper type shell to enclose the bed. would the weight of the shell level the truck without having to add anything to the front end?
Most shells only weight a couple hundred pounds so unless your springs have been abused and are sagging not likely to change the stance even on a F-150.

It'll only slightly lower the rear, likely not "level" the factory rake. I had a heavy fibreglass one on my '77, I had subbstituted some aluminum frame around rear opening with steel after the aluminum cracked, it weighed probably 200 pounds, maybe 250 at most, but it was weight distributed the whole length of the bed, the truck never knew it was there.
I had two 2x4 rails on 4x4 posts that I pulled the truck between, rails were maybe 7 feet apart but only about 6 feet long, unbolted the cap and stood in the bed with my 2x4 cross beams nearby, placed my back against roof one end at a time and pushed up and slid cross beam 2x4 cross the 2x4 rails, then I turned the other way and did that one the same way. The two rails were just high enough to be a few inches higher than the truck baed sides. Drive truck out from under cap, use C-clamps to hold cap to cross beams after sliding them to align bolt holes to the rail stand. I was concerned with winds, but some guys just leave them setting there. To install cap, just back the truck under the cap and reverse steps.
Neighbor had a eye bolt at each end of his bed cap in center, big sealed fender washers inside cap, he just used a rope hoist to lift his bed cap under a tree and drove out from under it, then lowered the cap onto some old pieces 4x4s laid on the ground.
