Rain sensing windshield wipers

Does anybody know if it's possible to add rain sensing wipers to a Lariat F250?

I ordered my truck from 2021 build options before 22 build options were available. So I have the Lariat Ultimate package and the black appearance package and a couple of other things that no longer look available for a 2022 Lariat order. At the time of ordering, rain sensing wipers was included in the 2021 Lariat Ultimate package, along with the heated steering wheel (not important), But the rain sensing wipers are NICE and somehow that option didn't make it to my truck... Does anyone know if I can add that to my new ride??

I don't know about adding them but they weren't part of the ultimate package in 21. You had to order the rain wipers to get the heated steering wheel which I wanted but didn't end up with because the stupid dealer said they were both part of the ultimate package and neither are part of that. It's a separate code you have to order or do without.

As of 2020MY they were no longer included with the Ultimate package. I can't say that I've noticed any threads where someone has added them after the fact. Most people add the option to get the heated steering wheel more so than wanting the rain sensing wipers. On my 19 I leave it off, never been impressed with how it works.

I must have been mistaken, I was sure they were included with the Ultimate package.. Either way, now I don't have them and I see it's only a $165 dollar option for the wipers and the heated wheel, so I'm really hoping the wipers are an easy add on.

Anybody??

The problem with adding them is if the sensor is already present on the truck.
If not, then I bet it would be a problem.
Then the difference in the switch.
I bet it would be pretty expensive if it can be done.
I have them on my truck, but haven't messed with them yet, hasn't rained since getting my truck.

I had them on my 16 F150 and I loved them. They did come on sometimes when a bug would hit the windshield where the camera was but that was not very often. Because of this I just assumed the sensor is camera visibility. I also know if I left them on while cleaning the windshield at the gas station they never moved until I was scrubbing / cleaning directly in front of the camera.

I have the r/s wipers on our 2019 Lariat Ultimate. They don’t seem to work particularly well IMHO and I have them turned off.

I agree. I don’t use it.

What do you guys not like about them? They worked great on my F150, I was assuming they would work the same on an F250 but maybe no....

They suck! Had them on my 19 platinum and they either went full speed or not enough at all. And then the random wipe on a sunny day with no rain in sight was just ridiculous. My 22 Lariat doesn't have them and I don't miss it at all.

It's the same hardware as the F150 uses so it would be the same. Opinions are all over the place. Here's mine - they work OK. Are they perfect? No. I do get a random wipe now and again. Overall I like them but I wouldn't miss them if they weren't on my truck. I usually leave them off until I actually get into rain.

I have them on my '19 and every once in a while, they will be out of wack. 95% of the time they work just fine. I'd order them again, for sure. If the sensor isn't there, it will probably be way to expensive to do the mod.

Mine have been off since my 200 mile drive home from the dealer. They seem to be okay if it’s truly raining but if it’s misting and you generally wouldn’t use your wipers, they come on.

annoying

Don't bother. Ford's rain sensing wipers are absolutely terrible. I have owned several other makes of cars w/ rain sensing wipers that worked great. Ford's just put the wipers on high when there are like 3 sprinkles. I have owned 3 modern F-series trucks (2018, 2020, 2021) and rain sensing wipers were the same on all 3, I just turn them off in the settings.

I have that as an option on the truck I ordered more so for the heated steering wheel vs the wiper function. Rain-Sensing Windshield Wipers and Heated Steering Wheel 60W
