Factory 5th Wheel Hitch Question

I have a rather tall Trailer Saver air ride hitch and a Roll n Lock bed cover. For it not to catch the handle, I use a ratchet strap to hold it down and from bouncing up to hit the cover when not using my 5er.

That's different. The big FORD plague on the bulkhead means it's OEM. That's the only way to get that, but every factory ordered spray liner I have seen is sprayed over the bed bolts and tie down hooks......or was the 5th wheel prep installed after delivery and the bolts replaced with new.

I was wondering about the "Ford" on the bulkhead. Looks nice... Window sticker says it came from the factory with the 5th wheel prep, but I really couldn't tell you for sure. I love that they didn't spray over the bolts either way. If you need to remove the bed for any reason with the sprayed in liner you have to cut the liner if it's over the bolts. My 05 was like that.

When I ordered mine I ordered both the 5th wheel package and the spray in bed liner. Hopefully it comes like that. It has a nice clean look.
One thing I noticed with the typical aftermarket add ons is that they have gotten much more competitive when it comes to what I spent on my ‘13 GMC. It cost me $500 for a line X spray in liner. The Factory is $595. Ford is competitive enough that it doesn’t pay to spend my time on it.

My understanding is that the bed bolts aren’t reusable so that may explain it if the 5th wheel prep was added.

There is a lot of talk, debate, whatever, about bed bolts, factory vs aftermarket liner etc. in the bed liner threads.....I agree, price is close enough to not be a consideration.

Post #4 is a good example of what I have seen with factory 5th wheel prep and factory spray liner. You will notice the bed bolts are sprayed over. It's possible with all the craziness lately that the process has changed. I assumed, but don't know, that the 5th wheel prep was installed on the line, prior to the bed being placed on the truck. The spray liner is done off site after complete assembly of the truck.
