So a question I had was what would be needed to switch the E-locker in my 2010 FX4 5.4 from being only available in 4WD to also being available in 2WD like the later 11's-14's. There's times where just a little more grip is needed but I don't really need to be in 4 wheel drive. I take my truck on trails a lot and there were a few where just a locking rear was more than enough. I had one on a 2WD Ranger and it served me really well during the winter.
I'm curious if taking the transfer case **** from the later year truck and swapping it out would allow me to engage the locker in 2 wheel drive. If not, what would be needed?
--- i thought you had a 2 x 4.. i see now you want to engage the rear of a 4 x 4 when in 2 wheel drive... My 2013 does that.. Dont know if there is more software involved, or just applying power to the rear end when in 2 x 4.

Definitely my bad. Yeah, I have an FX4 4 wheel drive.
I would think that it's a simple electrical issue as the locker generally needs just a signal to engage or disengage and I do kind of wonder if maybe I just need to create a harness specifically for the purpose of engaging the locker separate from the transfer case. I'm not really sure and I figured someone here has an answer.
i think you COULD do that... I also think there might be some software in the circuit... SEEMS like i read where the LOCKER kicks out at 40 MPH or something like that, so it "may" not be a simple circuit... But you sure could do it with a toggle and a jumper wire.
