2013 E350 Van rear wheel stud replacement help

Hello all.

im in desperate need of help. I’ve scoured the internet and can’t find any firm facts. I have a broken rear wheel stud on my 2013 15 passenger Ford e350 van. Can I replace stud without pulling hub and/or
axle?

The quick answer is NO! Depending on the type of axle,full-float or semi-float, the axle or hub needs to be pulled.

Thank you.

ive pulled axle shafts before and watched a video and on the Dana 60 floater it looks pretty straightforward.

how do I figure out which axle I have? It’s a 2013.

I read extensively that the lug nuts are designed to distribute a certain amount of force per stud and when you’re missing one this throws it off.

Perhaps on YOUR vehicle such an ill-advised practice is acceptable but such irresponsible advice should NOT be posted where someone might take such foolishness seriously.

There are eight for a reason so one missing IS an issue and potential problem. DO NOT run without all eight studs installed and all eight lug nuts are torqued to 140 ft/lbs.

Here's my passenger side rear wheel. I never ever advise anyone to do something unless i have done it myself. I also use 2" aluminum spacers, these wheels don't need em,has -44 ET. I don't recommend anyone to use cheap eBay spacers, with heavy loads or towing!

I have seen some videos where you can fenagle it out with out removing the hub. There is a small section that is clear eungh for just one stud, so you can rotate the wheel till the stud lines up that with it, you can maybe get it out with out taking it all apart. Just found the video
I am unsure if it is the same on a e series. I will need to do it my self shortly cause I have a sized nut that is half way of the lug.

Simply because YOU have done something doesn't make it advisable---to date you've been lucky enough to not yet have suffered mishaps from running like you show. I'll repeat your advice that its acceptable to run with 7 instead of 8 lug nuts properly torqued is highly irresponsible and just bad advice!

Not sure about you but if I ever offered bad advice, someone followed it and was injured as a result I'd feel horrible. If Ford installed 8 studs and produced wheels designed to be held in place with 8 torqued lug nuts I'm guessing they had their reasons. They did NOT include an option to ignore their design and specifications.
