360 problem/question

Well, some know what I have been working on. But, heres my problem. After replacing many parts on my truck I found the culprit of the problem. The Timing Chain. I have never replaced one before and started pulling everything off the front of the motor. Until I got to the timing cover. I got the damper off and remvoed the bolts off the timing cover. Well, here's the dilema. There is a sleeve over the crankshaft that I can figure out how to get off. Is there some kind of special tool for this ? Does anyone have any tips on how to get this sleeve off ? Like I said this is the first time I have done this. Thanks for the input.

Mine was not very tight. A little pb blaster an I grabbed it with a pair of mechanics gloves and gave a good yank.

That failing, perhaps grab it with some channelocks or vice grips and lightly tap it off.

You can take the timing cover off with the spacer still attached. This will give you some more room to work. Make sure to replace the front seal.

Thanks for tips guys. I managed to get it off and finish the job. Now, I just have to do some fine tuning and the truck should be on the road soon. If it wasn't for Daylight Savings I would have been done today. I hate this time of year with the short dayllight.
