I have a nice Smittybilt 12k winch that I want to install, but everything I've been seeing says the hidden winch mount is a Tremor only feature. Even the a/m guys. Why is that? My front bumper etc, except for the longer air dam appears to be the same as a Tremor. 20 F350 FX4 6.7 SCrew.
There’s a vendor on FB selling the kits at a discount. Their post says it fits most newer style SD’s, even the 2018 model, except for the 450’s maybe. If your on their, take a look.

Thanks. I have an account, but I stopped using it a couple years ago. I might have to go back in just to search for it.
The Ford Warn winch does fit on standard Super Duty trucks. My 2021 F350 truck was ordered with the winch. They shipped the Tremor winch which has something different about the brackets but dealer got Ford to ship them the correct brackets for non-Tremor model and they were able to then install it.

Sorry, I just reread your post. The hidden winch kit may not work with your existing winch. The winch that Warn built for Ford doesn’t have a lot of extra “stuff” like the retail Warn and SB winches do, likely because of a lack of space. Take a look at the install manual and you’ll see what I mean.

Any chance you know where I can get the install manual? I haven't been able to find it.
I'd probably go with the a/m one posted above anyway or because you have to weld their winch mount together I'd think about making it myself. They did an install using the China Freight Badlands winch. Actually a pretty decent winch... It fit ok so I'm sure the rest of the brands would too with that mount.

I just took a quick look through the install manual. It looks like it's a regular winch with the relay remote mounted. It's an install option on most decent winches.

The seller of that winch mount has offered to have it welded. He is on the Tremor forum

With what I'm sure is a hefty upcharge for the welding and the extra shipping costs you're probably at factory Ford prices... His parts look nice though. Laser cut, tabs for alignment to weld etc. It's tempting. I can weld, but I'm not a pro so I'd want a welder to do it for me probably. 1/4" plate isn't hard to weld though so maybe I'd give it a shot. $675 is still a little rough though so we'll see.
$772 with shipping tax...

My thoughts exactly. But it’s ready to weld. No guesswork no oops measurements.
I just need to determine if the 450 actually has reduced clearance behind the bumper.
Two questions. Do you want a winch? Do you want it hanging off the front of your truck or hidden?
Answers. 1. Yes 2. Hidden
Only three options as I could see it. 1. Buy the Tremor Warn winch. 2. Do like Colin and design and build your own. 3. Buy Colin's set up.
I decided to go with option 3. It arrives in four packages. Now I need to get to welding once the fourth package arrives.
