black / tan leather

just got my 04 f150 2 eeks ago, super cab, lariat, 4x2, black/beige outside, with tan leather & interior. was surprised how light the seating surfaces are, more of a cream color than tan or beige. i don't know why they put the lightest of all the colors inside on the seats!! ( just a warning to everyone considering the tan leather inside) i'm starting to wonder if i should have got the black inside especially because i use this as my light duty work truck. any comments from owners of black or tan leather equipped trucks

I just saw an ordered '04 LAriet SCrew Black with black leather interior on the dealers lot and it was absolutely beautiful!! Sorry, maybe the tan/beige/cream will grow on you.

tan leather

I know what ya mean will1010 about that tan interior. I also wondered why they would put such a light color on the seating surfaces, especially in a truck. I think it looks great but whats it going to look like 5 or 10 years down the road??

I dont have a Lariat, but I have an FX-4 with the black leather and I got it just because I knew it would show less dirt scuff marks than the lighter interior. Good luck with the new truck though. You wont be disappointed.

I just bought an 04 screw FX with medium flint (grey) leather. Until i saw the vehicle on the lot, i thought the FX only came in black leather. Personally, i prefer the grey and it goes very well with the rest of the black interior.

Black and Tan with Tan Leather

I picked up my 2004 F150 SuperCrew last Monday. Its a Black and Arizona Beige Lariat 4x4 with everything except the DVD system. This new F150 is by far the best one Ford has ever built. I traded in a 1998 Supercab Lariat 4x4 and I can't believe the difference. The brakes are 100 times better. The new 5.4L is smoother then the 1998 and you can feel the difference in horsepower. I loved my 1998 and hated giving it up except that i have a new baby on the way and i didn't feel the supercab was easy enough to get in and out of with a baby seat. The Supercrew has alot more room and is worth the foot you loose in the bed.

I justed picked up my '04 Lariat Screw Black on Black and it is Beautiful!! I had actually ordered a Black with the Tan interior. Thanks to this forum's previous discussions, I starting looking at the tan closer and really felt it was more like creme and it started looking real feminine. I then ordered another truck with the Black interior and I am very pleased with that decision. My 2000 Roush Expedition has tan, and quite frankly not a gorgous tan either, but the '04 tan just became too ugly after I saw the Black. The Black goes with the silver/grey accents so much better. Although the Black with show every piece of lint or dirt on the carpet, I am sure I can get some different carpet liners and work around that problem. And I am sure many will be happy with the tan/creme, it may be a little cooler in hot climates, but after a while of looking at it, I just couldn't go back. I agree with Will1010, everyone may want to take a close look at the black in the Lariat or Flint in some of the other models.

I also have the wood trim which blends well with the "cream" leather interior. The black is very cool too but i've had black and gray interior's in my last 4 vehicles. I needed a change. I was a machinist for 8 years but now i'm an executive so i don't get dirty everyday anymore. As a machinist even my black interiors would get dirty from all the oils and metal that would be on my clothes. Not to mention my trucks would start to smell like cutting oil. Not cool!!!! Good luck with your new truck!!!

PS: let me know if you find any good carpet liners. I'm looking for custom molded covers because they fit so much better.

I love my 2004 F150 Fx4 Black on Black. It's a SWEET combo and the truck just plain ROX! I too traded my 2002 F150 Fx4 Supercab for this for the extra space due to having a little one. It is much easier to put him in now then with my 02 that was lifted.

splash,

I had seen these before, these carpet liners are molded in a thermoplastic, and a 3-D molded carpet which looks great. here is some links:

Too bad the leather seats in the Lariat aren't cooled like you can get in Expedition/Navigator. I can't stand hot leather, and would never drive a vehicle in the summer unless it was cooled.
