Frame mounts

I am in the process of boxing my frame of my 48 F1. The truck was a basket case and I have mocked it up but not totally bolted up. It has a IFS and coil over rear. So i need to put inserts in inside of the trame. l looked to see if anyone has made a list of attachments but have not found one. I know there are various small items i will need to attach. I am looking for body attachments and such.
*Running Board frame mounts
*Rear cab mounts support
* Bumpers if you go that far out with the boxing.
* Drill holes to access Bed Bolts (not an attachment but I want to do it before I box that area)
*4 Link attachment bolts or weld in.
Seems like all the other body parts attach to the body and or radiator support. What am I missing?
Thanks in advance. I know some do not like to box the frame but after research I have decided to do it. Looking for those who have done it and may know what I am missing.

I've never boxed one, but some of the things I can think of (most could just be drilled and tapped):
Brake line attachments
Parking brake cable attachments
Tail light wiring attachments

If the fuel tank is in the rear:
Fuel tank attachments
Fuel pump/filter/line attachments

I am not sure if these will work in all locations but on the frame I have found Rivet Nuts are fantastic in many areas. If you need them a bit more secure just tack weld them also. Doing it this way allows you to remove them if they get cross threaded and just replace them easily.

They come in all sizes so they have been great for my needs.

I boxed the front portion of the frame on my 51 F1 as I soft mounted a 1979 Jag XJ12 IFS.

I drilled racing holes which provide some access. Worth a shot.

Take care
Dan

They come in sizes up to 3/8" which when tack welded in can hold some weight. I am not shying away from them.
I have used them for Radiator Mounts, Brake Lines, Gas Line, Electronic Mounts, Wiring Mounts, Door Latch Mounts so far.

I'm guessing although not sure but I think you got all the parts covered in your list. When I boxed in my frame, I welded in nuts on the inside before closing off the frame. I also welded in a bunch of 1/4" nuts about every 12" on the inside or boxing plates. I used them to hold brake lines, electrical stuff and fuel lines. Works great that way. Rivnuts work great as well, esp. for smaller items.

Thanks. When I read some of the posts it got me thinking about adding some inserts into the boxing plate before I weld it up.

Do it. Now that I am close to done, I wish there were more there. My brother told me to do it. I had no idea at the time.

Did you put an x-member in? I got the boxing plates made. Well most of them at least. The trans support was removed when i got it. So I am coming to the point where I need to decide if I put in a x member. Did you put one in? If so any pictures?

If you are asking me, no I did not. The only cross member I put in was a removable one for a trans mount.
