‘02 EX, 6.8 liter V10, 168K, will be running no issues and will all is a sudden die, has only happened at idle, sitting in the driveway or at a light. Have no idea where to start looking, any help is greatly appreciated. This is the wife’s vehicle and I like to keep her happy!
really need ,ore info here, sputter then stall, stumble before stall, missing at all, just shuts off like you shut off the key, how long has it been occuring.
Could be as simple as really bad gas, contaminated with water or something, or could be fuel delivery system, any number of things.
And if there are codes present, and you didnt include them in the first post, how are we supposed to know.
The error code isP0720, A/T output shaft speed sensor. When the truck dies it’s just like you turn the key off, no hesitation. Over the last 90 days it has happened 3 times, once while backing out of a driveway and twice while idling in gear. Over the last 90 days we have traveled about 2700 miles, truck has 168K. Thanks
Not sure if this is applicable to your truck, my truck wasn't throwing any codes. It stalled randomly but started back up without any issues. No stalling since the CJB rebuild.
Because of the windshield leak, I think my CJB may be screwed up again.
CJB - fuse box near your interior steering column.
I live in SoCal where it barely rains - yet, there was water damage. Go figure.
I would be driving and the motor would quit - freeway, at a light, in park, it was completely random but after stalling, it always fired right up. On the freeway I put the truck in neutral and restarted it and kept driving.
Peenhead it occurred to that maybe you didn't click the link to the previous post I created where the issue was discussed in detail? Click the below link:
