I'm sure that the other Satellite TV outfit does this as well...
Called up dish today and told then to terminate my account because I was moving and I had lots of stuff going on. They wanted to 'pause ' me -- and after what I learned, maybe I'll let them.
I asked what they would do about the 2 holes that they drilled into my house. The response was that they didn't want the equipment back! If I can find time, I'll check to see if they take it out when you 'pause'.
I'm sure that this policy was somewhere in the fine print -- what a bunch of carp.
Not a lot you can do after you've consented to have those holes drilled---I'm sure there's not one single part of their user agreement dealing with what's to be done if you or they terminate your account.
Sure its crap it might be hidden or obscured in your contract but that's on the user, not the crooks selling and installing that crap.
I've had bad experiences with both Dish and DirectTV. Neither one is really better than the other.
At my last house they mounted the dish on the fascia over the carport with the dish pointed back over the house. No post in the yard so it worked well.
Except that they drove a 2" screw dead in the center of the valley to hold the support....
