grille shells

does anyone know if a 73 grille shell will work on a 70 truck
i have looked everywhere for a new one and can't find one,
if you know where i can buy one pleaase let me know

Nope. It sure won't. You could MAKE it work, but it would be more trouble than its worth.

Grilles for the 67-72 come up on eBay from time to time. They're not cheap.

I have a cataloge that has new grilles for 70-72 Fords. I think they even use the original mold. I'll have to go dig it out and see.

You can buy new 70-72 from Dennis Carpenters 70 is 400 and 71-72 is 375 bucks. They sell the inserts for the 70 and the 72 but not the 71's. Beware they are pricey just like the grills! They also have the headlight doors for 70-72's to finish off the front grill assembely.

what is dennis carpenters? i clicked that and couldn't find any grilles!!!!

thats the cataloge I was thinking about. I've heard their stuff is very high quality. But its still expensive.

I have got catalogs from everybody who offers free ones. I just got one from National Parts Depot, which is here in Charlotte just like Dennis Carpenter - save a few bucks on shipping that way. MAC's is another one. Maybe it's just my imagination, but Dennis Carpenter's prices seem a little cheaper when they setup at the Autoshows.

Dotcentral most of the distriburators are cheaper at shows I found aguy at a show selling the 68-70 black repro steering wheels for 100 bucks and he said 130 plus shipping if i ordered when I got home. Wanted to ask him if he was in it for the money or the love for FORDS!
