i know on my f150 you just need the tool that you can get at any parts store for like $10,take off the gas cap to relieve pressure and once you see the tool you will know how to do it,kinda hard to explain in words!!!!!!!!!!good luck from single dad to single mom.......lol
Tool is already attached to the fuel line at the filter side, is the one attached with a "string", you just slide it in and will detach the fuel filter.
I thought that was a tool on a string was a safety clip to keep the filter from separating from the foward fuel line.
The rear fuel line has a safety clip with a type of white plastic safety pin that goes through the connector housing and around the fuel line connection.
The tool you need looks like the top colorful 'donut' set found at almost any auto parts store.
Yes, even then, have a bucket or somthing ready, cause gas WILL come out of the line after you have depressurized it. I found this out the hard way by laying under the truck!, lucky i had saftey equiptment on, like a facemask!
The donuts like tools are for the A/C, I bought them to use it to replace the fuel filter and didn't worked, size will not match, that's how I discovered the actual clip is the tool, I pressed it agaist the fuel line and it unlatched the fuel filter.
