Trailer TPMS

I recently installed and set up the trailer TPMS and camera. I can see the tire pressure and can use the camera with no issue.

On a recent trip I ran over debris on the road and a trailer tire was literally cut from bead to bead. There is no way that the TPMS could have alerted me before I heard and reacted. However, it never alerted me at all. I pulled over, set my hazards, all the while with no alert. After patching the damage to the trailer and changing the tire, I get back on the road and I can see the screen with the pressure of all tires including the one showing 0 PSI. All this and not a single alert. The PSI for my tires is 75, I set the normal PSI in the trunk to 30 as a test and it never alerted me to high PSI.

What is the time/threshold for it to alert? Do you have to perform some extra steps for it to actually alert you? Because you cannot constantly watch the display, it should notify you.

I’m following this thread because I plan on using the trailer TPMS system with my new SD.

Did you ever figure out what the problem was? I'm curious, because I'm planning to install the camera and TPMS on my fiver soon.
