A very close call....
I thought I would share this dashcam video from my truck...
We were on vacation and traveling from Durango, CO to Estes Park, CO. We had come up US-285 and were about to transition onto I-70 East on the western side of Denver. I had slowed to about 50 MPH to make the transition. There were two lanes for this exit and I was in the right lane. I checked my side mirror as a small car was coming up beside me in the left exit lane. I looked back infront and there was a small black SUV stopping in my lane. I had no where to go so stood on the brake and locking up the tires on the truck. I felt the trailer start to come around and was afraid the truck was gonna roll so I let off the brake just as quickly and decided to just hit the idiot as that would be better than rolling the truck. I moved into the left lane forgetting about the small car to the my left. Miraculously, we were able to maneuver around the idiot in the black SUV and didn't hit him. (I still don't know how we missed him.). The small car to my left did an outstanding job of getting out of my way as well. Once we got to Estes Park, CO, I was able to pull and review the Dashcam video which is the link below. The idiot in the black SUV crossed 4 lanes to get in front of me then slam on the brakes. OMG! It was definitely a "Code Brown" moment for me. I could have probably done some things differently but in the heat of the moment, I just did what what I did....

Wow, you're incredibly lucky (as was the idiot in the SUV as, by rights, you should have blistered that car since he didn't really leave you a lot of options). That exact situation is how I totaled my SD a couple years ago. Guy was missing his exit, I was in the exit lane and he did the same maneuver but he clipped by back end and sent me barreling into a concrete wall at highway speed. Some people just shouldn't drive!
I saw this type of thing happen during the 92 recession in my area. There was a rash of people pulling moves like this in front of expensive cars to get a big insurance pay out. I was almost a victim of this. Driving with my buddy in his 87 s class when a POS escort pulled out from a dead stop into 70 mph traffic on US 23. 5 others didn't fair so we'll. Notice the SUV in the video almost came to a stop..... Yep, big expensive truck spells wealth to some.

Idiots in NC do this all the time too. They miss almost their exit and do a NASCAR FIVE LANE MANEUVER! Then they act as if nothing happened. If I miss, or my exit is obviously coming on too quick, I go to the next and come back. Never endanger others! But remember, we live in a narcissist world!
There are lots of good choices - just make sure it has good reviews on Amazon and you should be good to go.
