Nice crash avoidance skills and great reflexes. I always have a dashcam running when I am towing my camper. A picture is worth a thousand words but a video is priceless!!!
This isn't anything I'd do if I realized I was about to miss an exit but I can kind of understand someone making a last minute change like this to get to the exit. Stupid but I understand it. What I don't get is why he put the brakes on or slowed way down. Maybe as mentioned earlier in the thread someone looking for an insurance payout from getting hit from behind. Is it possible this is a road rage thing that might of happened earlier down the road? Scary no matter what.

No road rage that I am aware of... A very uneventful day until that point.
Looks like temporary plates on that Nissan. Could be a new driver who was confused took the exit then maybe second guessed...really bad decision to hit the brakes after making that long cutover. I wonder if they even know the OP was there and almost splattered him/her.
Nice piece of driving by the OP! Thank God no one was killed or even injured...
This is why I have been meaning to get a dashcam. I tow a camper too and people cut me off all the time when I'm towing. One day they will pull this and I will hit them and they will swear it is my fault..
EXACTLY THIS. I've been watching a bunch of Dashcam videos on YouTube LOL and it has really made me think I need to get one. They aren't that expensive either. My only thing is trying to rig it up out of the way without having wires all over the place.
Ahhhh looking at the video closer maybe he's slamming brakes because he almost whacked the guard rail. Looks like he came close. Idiot regardless.
That's my thought too. Stupid driver.
I've been through that interchange many times. It kind of creeps up on you. While the exit to I-70 East is two lane, the I-70 West exit is only one lane. If I'm towing I tend to stay in the right lane so I don't **** of everyone else on the speedway. But getting over to that left lane to go west on I-70 can be challenging because everyone going east wants to be in the left lane also. The east exit funnels down to one lane, with the right lane ending.
With the technology and cameras these vehicles have especially with the utt system. Why can't they have them recording? Would be covered from all angles.

Its not hard to hide all the wires, etc.
So I picked a unit that had a hardwire kit with a very long cable. So the hardware cable runs from the dashcam up to the headliner and I just poked it in behind the headliner all the way over to the A pillar on the passenger side. Then I ran it behind the A pillar (poked it in behind the trim) to the to the side trim to the floor bay trim. Then I ran ran a power wire from the upfitter wires behind the driver side battery over to the pass through wires on on the passenger side via the engine bay. The pass through wires gets me connectivity into the cabin. I then wired up the hardwire kit to passthrough wires and bingo - I got power and all the cables are hidden.
