04 f350

04 f350 with the dreaded 6.0. 150k miles. A couple of times lately when I started it up i've gotten a plume of smoke or steam out of the exhaust when I start it up. It doesn't happen every time. If I leave it off for a while and restart it I don't see the smoke. I do see some little wisps at start up sometimes. Does this sound like a blown head gasket?

No. Sounds like fuel sat in the cylinders and then evaporates if you let it sit. Kinda sounds normal to me, mine would do this.

How long would it smoke if that were the cause? Last time it did it for a couple of miles till I shut it down. 30 minutes later no problem.
