I have a 1963 F100 4x4. In an attempt to get it as close to original as possible, I ordered OEM steel wheels, reconditioned, and AFTER having the tires mounted I noticed they are not exactly the same. On one the nubbies (that’s a technical term) are longer and the wheel is stamped with the Ford logo … the other three have shorter nubbies and no logo. The question: is this a big deal? Are the shorter ones not Ford OEM? This one does not have the Ford logo, and the little nubbies are shorter This one has the Ford logo stamped on one of the inner “triangles”
Are these wheels “outies” or “innies”?
My Ford Parts Manual, 1957-1963, shows the proper hubcap for my truck is part number: C3TZ 1130-A … which is the Stainless Steel version vs. the Argent/Red, and shows the size as 9 1/2”. Does anyone know where I can get some of these, preferably NOS or a reputable reproduction?
The wheels you want have the nubs on the inside of the ring. There are wheel companies that reproduce those wheels but they can get expensive. Wheel Vintque is one such company.

Putting aside for a moment my desire to get it back to original, is there any problem using the wheels I have?
If you already have the correct set of innie bottlecap hubcaps, they won’t work with what you have in your photos. I was unaware that the four wheel drive trucks from our era even came with wheel covers.
Someone has a set of four of the correct innie style, in 16” size in our Marketplace.
Always ask questions if your new to these trucks! Bump style nubs "outies" are 1966 and newer. 1963 F 100's came with " innie" style wheels that accept original " innie" type hubcaps. These wheels are getting harder to find locally, shipping often costs more than the wheels. Caution,15 and 16" innie wheels came in various widths. Hubcaps are plentiful in used condition on ebay and were reproduced by vendors at one time, seem to be out of stock now. Stainless Steel Original Style Hub Cap 1961-65 – Carolina Classics F100 (carolina-classics.com) Stainless was optional, argent silver was standard. Parts books are confusing on measurements. The correct hubcap has a back ring opening which measures approx 8". 4x4's came with hubcaps on rear axle only. The wheels in ibuzzards link would be awsome for a '63 4x4!
I believe that I have talked about my wheels before in this forum. What I did is remove the centers by drilling thi spot welds out and put the centers in new 8 inch wide hoops. That allowed me to use a much bigger tire.
If anyone is interested in exactly how I accomplished this, I will revisit the steps I took.
Nothing is hard to find. Stock skinny wheels aren’t desirable.
Wheel Vintiques will make anything you want.
These Grabber Blue innies are going on my ‘72.
Those are nice. But, gotta disagree, the stock wheels are getting scarce. People are asking - and getting -high prices. If you are daily-driving a (mostly) stock truck, sans power steering, the skinny originals are much easier to turn, and therefor very desirable. Maybe not for a 4WD, but certainly on a 2WD.
If you’re easily finding these wheels, share the wealth on FTE please , lots of guys here need them.

I gotta agree with you Steve, I have 205's width tires on my '60 with a completely rebuilt stock frontend and it handles nicely. Wouldn't want the wider ones. I have 235's on my '93 with power steering! LOL
I have 15x8s on the front of my straight axle 63. It drives like a dream with the rebuilt box, new pins and tie rod ends.
I had 31/10.50s on this truck on 8” rims for 30 years, I’m about to go back.
Let me know when you come across the 17.5" 5 lug Ford wheel for sale. This was the optional wheel during the '61-'66 period for the F 100. Not interested is custom made jobs. The clock is ticking...............

If you're unwilling to have what you want custom made then you're only limiting yourself. There are wheel manufacturers that are willing to make you just about anything you want.
