So I found the front suspension with disc brakes for an f100 at a swap meet and grabbed it. My truck currently has drum brakes up front and I want to swap it with the disc brakes from a newer truck. I plan to clean these up and rebuild the brakes and swap out the entire front suspension of my truck. My question is I want to replace the king pins while I have it out and I’m wondering if someone can help me determine what year truck the new suspension is out of. I know it’s between 73-79 but I assume the king pin is specific to the year? From looking at the dust shield I was guessing this is maybe 73-76. I heard the later 70s models had vents in the dust shields. Any help is appreciated.
I look forward to seeing your progress on this. I'm waiting on a guy who is parting out a 73 to let me know when he's pulled the front end. It'll be going under my 70. Did you also get the brackets for where the hard line and hoses meet? My understanding is you need to swap those to position the hose correctly.

I was not able to get those brackets. The donor truck was not available to me. I am going to have to track those down.
If your replacement front disc brakes are from a 1973/1974 model, you could swap the spindles only onto your existing components using the same size (new) king pins. _ Tony.
did you fabricate the bracket or did you actually find one for sale?
I located a Bump in the salvage yard and scored its easy to remove driver-side bracket for use on the passenger side. The driver side is bolted to the frame whereas the passenger side is riveted.

I just spoke with the guy who I'm getting the 73 front end from. I've got to take a trailer to get it. He just chopped the frame and I'm getting everything from the power steering gear box forward. A lot less work for him, and more work for me, but it guarantees I'll have EVERYTHING I might need. He said I'd get everything but the gearbox. I asked what he wanted for it and he said $60, so I said I'll take it too. I didn't need it, but for $60 I'll have a spare.
Downside is that means I have to drive my 70 the 55 mile round trip to go get it as it's all I have I can pull a trailer with. Ole Blue hasn't made a drive that long in close to 20 years! And has 12 year old tires. 😳
