So, I bought all the parts to do this myself without actually taking a good look at how difficult it would be to get the oil pan off. I saw some other posts where people said it could be done by just dropping the pan a bit and then removing the oil pump, but after looking at it tonight, there doesn't seem to be any room to even access the pan bolts, let alone remove the pan. With the cross member and motor mounts where they are, it seems almost impossible to do this without pulling the engine. Has anyone does this job on an E350 of this vintage without pulling the engine? I'd love to do this myself, but it seems like much more than a 4 hour job that I was anticipating.
