I'll have a better look at the roof once the service body is off. I'm also getting a new headliner with the new cab, so I'll get to see the underside of the sheet metal while I'm at it. Skipping the can swap will save a bunch of time which would be awesome.
Last real obsticle to really committing is getting a tittle in hand for it. The truck was never actually registered with the MTO (Canadian DMV) since it was strictly used off road. There was never an ownership (title) issued for it which is making things complicated.
They dont do Bond titles? I have done a couple in my state. Isn’t too hard.
It looks like a typical work truck to me. I have some trucks that are that hammered before the first oil change. Nature of doing business where these trucks are just cheap disposable tools of the trade. I wouldn't do a thing to that body until you tried to get warranty work done.
I got its good side in a lot of those photos, but yeah probably best to get it into the dealer ASAP to make sure everything is covered.

I haven't gone that road too far yet, my first visit with them they wanted more history on the truck. I'm still waiting to hear back from the dealer that originally sold it to see if they can get me some more documentation. Ideally I'd like a nice clean tittle on it so I'm pushing for that.
Took the front bumper off this afternoon to look into the fluid leak up front, looks like one of the lines going to the transmission cooler are shot. Rust like this wouldn't be covered under the powertrain warranty would it? Anybody have the OEM P/N to get an idea what these cost and how bad they are to change?
Cleaned up the interior a bit too and snapped some pics to show how trashed it is! The new cab will be coming with a fair amount of new parts, I'll have to source some of the other ones that are too far gone.
Try scrubbing bubbles (I use the offbrand stuff) on the door panels. Just dont get it on soft rubber or kill them as it will Eat.
I would try phosphate (or phospho) on everything under it and try to warranty it.
Never thought a scrubbing bubbles as an interior cleaner, I usually use SuperClean degreaser and a stiff brush and it works well. Thanks for the tip! BTW, the yellow you see on the inside is spray/marking paint.
As in trisodium phosphate? In an effort to degrease and clean up the underside? I plan on pulling the service box and pressure washing the whole thing really good in the next little bit.
Hahaha I'll get a few when I replace it. I actually pulled it out a few weeks back when the AC wouldn't blow. It was CLOGGED with super fine dust, and the filter itself was starting to deteriorate. I looked like I just finished a shift in a coal mine what I was done with it. I ended up just knocking it against the side of the truck to clean it out a bit until I get a replacement.
No that stuff neutralizes rust. You can pressure wash it real good first and be selective if you think prudent.
I would swap the interior if it has paint all in it.
A buddy of mine has a 2017 extended cab with a complete interior in it that I'll likely pillage for parts. For seats, both sides need attention, looking for a complete set of new ones (only been able to find a set for $1500) or buying new covers and foam for the drivers side. Also missing a headrest for the passenger side.
I would find a take out center console and covers on ebay. The head rest too. Real easy job for an Upholstry shop.
The rest is really easy too. It basically pops together and new parts are cheap if needed.
Yeah I've found new take off covers from an XLT crew cab for reasonably cheap, might go that route. Also found a headrest for an OK price. I'll need a new foam from Ford for the drivers side cushion though.

Sorry if you already posted but how many hours on it?

You've got some work ahead of you. Can't wait to see how this progresses.
Rock monkeys (miners) got into it, that's the problem! It's got around 2500 hours, it's never been on a highway in its life, and obviously lots of idling.
