Well, congratulations on your 1000th post!

It does look somewhat significant but I’ve definitely seen worse…

Kind of looks like mine but that right hand exhaust manifold looks like it's been replaced. And are you cooking a bird in there or something?

Proper amount of leaks will keep rust away!

Seriously,i have never heard that engine block would have rusted through.

I'd spray cooking oil on the EBPV tube and connections, let it bake off. As rust prevention cuz it's hurtin'.

Heck spray all the rust. Season it like your skillet.

Bird removal is optional but recommended.

Not too long ago there was a user here who posted pics of block rusted through right next to his exhaust manifold. It was a new one on me but seeing was believing.

Was that engine on daily driver?
Hard to imagine that regularly driven engine block rusts through..

Talking of birds,i'd have one on my tranny cooler since spring.
It's called Tirppunen.

Not too bad. At least the heads on the bolts appear to still be close to 13MM. I have an engine sitting in a shed from a NY state pickup where the majority of the heads on the manifold bolts will nearly fit in an 8MM socket.

I've said it before....

How you poor souls in the rust belt haven't castrated yout D.O.T. higher-ups for unwilling destruction of your vehicles is beyond my comprehension.

Hate to say it those look a lot better than the ones that came off mine.

The mid-atlantic and northeast does have a pretty serious appetite for sodium chloride.

I could handle some of that and if I could find a fishing partner up here, I'd hit the Jersey and DE shores for stripers.
