I'm not sure if it's been covered but for those who have installed a Train Horn in your 250's, what set up did you use? I've got an 8 gallon air tank and just need a compressor, the wiring and some other parts. I'm in the early stages of deciding if I want to mount it underneath, buy a bed toolbox to mount it inside......so laying out the plan. If you bought a kit, how much did you pay for it.....Your thoughts.
I’d recommend mounting the compressor in the cab or toolbox, using DOT brake like hose with push to connect fittings vs traditional connections and be sure to put a female standard fitting somewhere convenient so you can use the air. That’s my plan when I reinstall mine for now I just have the normal horn aka the pedestrian horn activated lol Being able to inflate the truck tires after deflating sure does come in handy when you least expect it.
Definitely would recommend a 100% duty cycle @ over 125 psi compressor the one I have can’t run an impact gun but serves it’s purpose well. With an 8 gallon tank you’re gonna want something beefy for the compressor most horns run at 145 psi.
