I've got a iPhone 12. I thought I use to be able to text when just bluetooth paired with sync3, seems now it will read the text, and only allow certain canned responses. When it's plugged in, I can listen and respond as intended. Any ideas what setting I have buggered up?

I have the iPhone 12 and use bluetooth with no issues.
You may have "Do not Disturb While Driving" activated on your phone.
The truck may have something similar as well, so you might also check it.
IMO, I consider Apple a bit more evil. My impression of their approach is to do it their way, or go home. Quite often "their way" just rubs me raw.
I'm guessing you are not a fan of them scanning all your photo's looking for child ****. Not that that upsets me if they nail a few creeps, but what will they do with my info about types of guns I might own, etc. I must say, I feel Google is worse, they listen to and sell everything you do.
