AC recharge issue
Hey i went to recharge my AC today and when I attached the gauge to the high end valve it was under extreme pressure and hissing as I tried to put the gauge on. I’ve yet to get it on. What does this mean? My AC doesn’t blow cold obviously

I think you're supposed to attach that to the suction end and I think they're different sizes so you can't put it on the wrong end.

If pressure is that high system may be plugged up and that maybe why it's not working. Shut it down and let pressure bleed off attach and check again.

My memory is not very good but I'm thinking it gets connected to a fitting on the dryer, does that sound right?

I’m fact the gauge doesn’t even fit around the other AC port so it has to be the one I was on. Do I have the wrong gauge? Is Ford being wierd again? 😂

I believe that they are standard across the manufacturers.

Some quick connect fittings for AC gauge sets have a **** that lets you wind the pin that depresses the valve out before you connect to the port. Make sure that **** is fully unwound first. Aside from that, low side port is on drier. High side port on tube close to the compressor. Refrigerant when released from pressure will always feel cold. It does not matter which port it gets released from.

Are you using a real gauge set or one of those auto parts store quick charge kits? Most gauge setups have a **** that you rotate counter clockwise to retract the pin that pushes the valve then crank it back down after locking it in place. If you're using the cheapo kit it might be defective or you're not unlocking it before trying to push it on. The ones I've seen have a collar you pull back to snap it onto the port, there might be other styles.
