Question Brake light switch?

Hi all;

I am in the process of converting the f-3 to front discs, The booster and master are mounted under the floor, stock pedal.
The question is, can I mount the original style switch with a
tee fitting on the back line, after the prop valve?

Thank you.

Paul.

It will work, speaking from experience. We converted a 60 to disc brakes and used the original brake light switch. It's mounted on the master cylinder like the original, but the 60 model has always been firewall mounted. It shouldn't make much difference where you put the switch.

Since the switch is a simple pressure switch, It will work anywhere there is hydraulic pressure when you press the brake pedal. Theoretically it could be mounted in a tee in any line going to the wheel cylinders. Probably easiest to do it as you have stated.

Good luck. You may also want to look at the condition of the brake lines themselves and replace any that are internally damaged.

From the outhouse , on the last page of the catalog

Question

Does anybody know if there would be a problem with the above mentioned tee install if it went after the check valve? I am running 2-pound check valves. So is the switch so sensitive that the 2 pound residual pressure would cause it to stay on? Thanks, John
